Colored Flash Powder

[edit] Colored Flash Powder
Colored Flash Powder Is a great way to have your rockets lame flashy salute turn into a dazzling colored BOOOOM! The most common colored flash powder is red. The great thing about red flash powder is that the chemicals needed for it aren't very poisonous or reactive with other chemicals. One downfall of this is that usually "safe" chemicals can get pretty expensive. This example of Red Flash calls for two fairly common chemicals used in pyrotechnics. First Strontium Nitrate and next is very fine Magnesium Powder. These both are widely available chemicals that can be bought at many suppliers. High quality Magnesium powder can be purchased at American Pyro Supply[1]. Enough chit-chat lets get down to business, remember when using magnesium with nitrates use coated magnesium!
